We had an amazing time at Alivio in our caravan, drive through sites are easy and amenities if needed are well maintained and updated. We had to move to a cabin as there wasnt availability for us one night of our 8 night stay but the staff when booking made it super easy to get us in and out of each set up as quickly as possible. Eddy one of the reception managers was a legend, we had a power issue on our site (not the parks fault) and Eddy came over and sorted it within a couple of minutes! All the staff are super friendly and made an effort to connect with our 2 young boys throughout their time in the park! We had to leave a few days early unexpectedly and the team really made an effort to make that as easy as possible. We will definately visit if we're ever in Canberra again
Its a nice place to stay. The pool area is great. The restaurant set up is good. We cant eat there because of allergies but its a nice set up for those who can. There is beautiful wildlife around, easy access to everything around. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. But the maintenance house keeping team... hmmmm... they drive around far to fast or park their vans in the middle of the road and your just left waiting... one older man , shaved type head, was grumping at another employee, as we were walking by, then sped around a corner n had to slam his breaks on and then tooted at us but were just walking to the pool doing nothing wrong. He was the one who got a fright doing the wrong thing. was actually quite disappointing. But the accommodation is nice, lots of space, different accommodation to suit budget. The parking is tricky though, so if you have a big car id suggest mentioning it to them.
We have stayed here that last 2 years in January with our young children. We have enjoyed each stay. Our cabins have been great, plenty of room, and were clean and comfortable. The pool, verandah and restaurant are great for families. Each afternoon we would explore the grounds with plenty to keep our kids occupied. We have found staff to be friendly and helpful. A stay in Canberra but feels like you’re at the beach. We’ll be back again next year.
Stayed three nights at the Alivio campground in O’Connor (a suburb of Canberra). Although the caravans were close to each other, the area is great because it has ensuite for caravans and you could eat at the restaurant/bar in the main building. We had great meals in the restaurant which consisted of a mocktail, plate of oysters and a lovely well cooked steak. There were barbecues available. If you wanted to cook your own the facilities were great with the pool and activity centres, which included a half basketball court. You definitely couldn’t be bored at this site. The birds were very tame and the parrots came up very close to you in expectation of something to eat, so we gave them some birdseed. If you didn’t want to use a caravan there was also cabins available. A great place to stay while visiting in Canberra.
We come back every year. The park is in a fantastic location and close to so many things to do. The restaurant has a good variety for breakfast and the pizzas are amazing. The prices are not cheap but the food is worth it. We really appreciate the pool and play spaces they offer as we are always with our kids. We can highly recommend the Blue Gum Villas as a stay location as we find the extra money well spent for the space. Awsome bbq areas that we also use on our frequent visits. We love all the staff and especially Eddy they make the park what it is and we appreciate you all. Thanks for continuing enjoyment with our visits, see you all again next year.
