About this place Lucca

Lucca sits on Xingfu Lu — one of the quieter residential streets of the western Former French Concession — and has established a consistent reputation as the area's most reliably gay-welcoming bar without being exclusively gay-identified. The bar has a visible LGBTQ+ presence in its crowd and staff, and hosts informal community-relevant evenings. The atmosphere is more relaxed than the bars on Julu Lu proper; good for conversation and a longer evening rather than a high-energy night out. Cocktails are well-made and strong. A comfortable second stop or a quieter alternative for those less interested in the more visible options.

We were fortunate enough to visit Lucca 390 before the COVID-19 pandemic – and to this day, we look back on it with fond memories. The bar was an incredibly open, vibrant place full of life and positive energy. From the moment you walked in, you could feel the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Everyone was embraced warmly, no matter where they came from or who they loved – exactly how you would imagine a modern, inclusive bar. What we especially loved was the versatility: you could either sit at a cozy table for four and enjoy delicious, well-crafted cocktails, or head over to the dance floor and party the night away. The drinks were creative, tasty, and always served quickly with a smile. It was the perfect blend of casual comfort, great music, and a wonderfully diverse crowd that made Lucca 390 such a special experience. One thing that really stood out was the respectful and friendly spirit among all the guests. People from different countries, age groups, and backgrounds came together, and everyone truly felt welcome. That special energy made every evening there feel like a celebration. We would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank the entire Lucca 390 team. You didn’t just run a bar – you created a place where people felt happy, safe, and free to celebrate life. We will never forget those nights and truly hope that places like this will exist again in the future.

What a quite place to go for a quite drink during the week. I’m sure it would be much better on the weekends

Cool bar with a front bar area for standing (or sitting) and modelling and a dance area in the back with a stage and gogos

Worst place ever, dont go. They have construction ongoing while people are inside at 1am, unbelieveable.
