The Augustine Hotel in Prague is a wonderful place to call home while visiting the city. Located in Malá Strana (Lesser Town) it's a great reprieve from the madness of old town while remaining conveniently located. 15min walk to Prague Castle, 5min to Charles Bridge, 10min to Old Town. There is a tram spot right at the entrance and a train station just down the road. Our room was magnificent, spacious, and clean during our 3 night stay. The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and even included some of their St. Thomas beer for us to sample in the room! There is an awesome spa that we were able to book on short notice. The breakfast is good and the drinks are cold. Would definitely recommend staying here if you're visiting Prague.

This was difficult to rate but ultimately we could not give it a 5 star. If there was 4.5 stars, that’s where we would have landed. ***Note: the spa and sauna are closed for renovations for several months from what I understand. There was a problem when we arrived and the gym was closed for 2 days too - which I was bummed about because I love torturing my body with exercise on vaca:) The hostess promptly let me know the day it was reopened- it’s a great gym! The rooms: Positive - big beautiful rooms, large bathroom (ours had separate bath and shower which was nice), heated floors, very quiet and clean. Negative: beds were extremely hard (think like sleeping on padded plywood), toilet paper was uncomfortably rough (like actual paper), and room was very warm (slept with windows open, which was fine). The service: We had hit or miss service. Receptionist and concierge were helpful upon arrival. The bar was nice - we had exceptional drinks, food, and service the day we arrived. The restaurant (breakfast/dinner) attentiveness varied from good to pretty subpar. For example, during dinner at the restaurant, it took 25 min to get a mixed drink delivered (the restaurant was empty).. and by the time it arrived, there was the equivalent of maybe a shot of liquid in the glass with melted ice. It was strange as we had the same drinks the day before and they were actual cocktail size. When we inquired about the $17ea shot size drink, we were told we were wrong and it is correct. Odd experience, but we paid and moved on…. But, the food at the restaurant was excellent. Our son loved the cheese pasta and my wife said the duck was some of the best she’s ever had. Location: If anything, do yourself a favor and stay in this area if you want a quieter and calmer experience. It was perfectly located for us. Other: 1- Prague is extremely accessible by subway/trolley. Recommend downloading the Pid app and buy an unlimited pass for time you are there. Once we got the hang of it, this was super helpful and our son enjoyed riding too. 2- The Czech restaurant recommended by the hotel was the best authentic beef tartare in town. 3 - tours: we booked a private Prague tour through the hotel for ease with our son. It was a nice way to see the city quickly, but for the price, wasn’t extremely remarkable. If your party is up for it, I’d recommend booking with a group tour which will save a lot of money and learn same info. Terezín : we took a tour with a local historian (Jiri). He’s devoted his studies to interviewing Holocaust and WWII survivors to preserve history. Tour/Falconry Lesson: look this up on Airbnb experience. This was a huge highlight for all 3 of us - both seeing/flying birds and the host sharing his personal account of Prague history circa communist era to/from the bird sanctuary. Amazing experience.. and we aren’t even “bird people”. Hotel Monastery Bar: this is not open to public or hotel guests - only private parties. A nice addition would be if the hotel would make this available to guests. We walked down and looked at the bar on our own. Hotel/Monastery Tour: There is a Monastery tour on Thurs at 11am, I think. The other option is to take a tour of the hotel with concierge on Sat at noon. We couldn’t fit either in to our itinerary. Enjoy Prague! Find a local to share their more local recommendations on food, markets etc. before you leave. If going to Christmas markets, get there when they open at 1000!

The Augustine in Prague is a refined and elegant hotel that perfectly blends history with luxury. The rooms are beautifully designed, featuring exceptionally comfortable beds and high-quality linens that make for a great night’s sleep. The property itself has a sophisticated charm, with a peaceful ambiance despite being in a central location. Breakfast is very good, offering a solid variety of options with attentive service. Due to the hotel’s popularity, upgrades can be limited as it’s often fully booked—but even the standard rooms are spacious and well-appointed. Overall, The Augustine delivers a high-end experience with comfort, style, and consistent service—definitely one of Prague’s finer stays.

They have Prague Castle view rooms✨ former monastery was too gorgeous tbh. I liked all the services at the hotel including breakfast; if you stay in this hotel, never miss those selections!

Well we paid for 5stars hotel so I expect 5 stars service and environment. Overall it’s nice and unique, the location the lobby the room the fresh tulips and the breakfast are great. However the entrance is kind of hidden, no 5 stars atmosphere; the toilet in our room has yellow brownish stain and the corner of the wall next to the shower has molded. At this time the garden is closed as well. The some part of the ceiling in hallway is very low, my husband hit his head a few times.
