via Stay22About this place Bears' Den
Bears' Den is consistently cited as one of the warmest and most community-minded bars in Le Marais, and it earns that reputation across three floors. The ground level is your standard Parisian bar setup — good beer, a decent sound level, staff who know the regulars' names. The basement is something else entirely: exposed medieval stone walls, low ceilings, and the particular intimacy that cave bars have possessed since before gay bars existed. The top floor hosts karaoke nights and private events. The bar is welcoming to bears, otters, cubs, their chasers and their friends, with a genuine absence of the body fascism that can creep into other gay spaces. On the Rue des Lombards, connecting Le Marais to Châtelet, it sits a couple of minutes' walk from the main Rue des Archives strip but maintains a loyal local following that makes it feel distinctly less tourist-facing than its neighbours.

My boyfriend and I had a blast. Very reminiscent of the Los Angeles Eagle in the best way. Very welcoming and kind staff. Incredibly kind environment and good vibe. If you are a bear or bear adjacent please check this place out and show it some love.
What a warm welcome! First visit this evening, and Jon introduced himself and bought me a drink. Fantastic karaoke a little later downstairs. I will be back next time I am in Paris.
If you are a bear and/or love bears this is a place to be! It has a very interesting architecture where you can go around the whole thing without retracing your steps. It also has Karaoke, which is another thing that I like. Only problem is that it is a bit expensive, but I feel like everywhere is expensive so get used to it. I did not eat anything therefore I cannot judge the food. Only reason the ambient is not 5/5 is that they have a pretty small dark room.
Great vibe! It’s packed! I’m a little sad I found out about it on the last day
Went around 10 PM. Bought a beer at street level and then headed downstairs to where they were singing karaoke. Tried to buy a second drink but once bartender realised I was a French speaker he put his hand up to stop me speaking and served two other guys. Then faffed around the bar still ignoring me. Served another guy who walked up. Chatted to a coworker, did more around the bar and then served a fourth guy. Refusing to make eye contact with me and ignoring my trying to get his attention. Ended up walking out. If you’re not a French speaker don’t go near this place.
