About this place Butcher's Tears

Located in Amsterdam, this gay-friendly brewery and proeflokaal combines the best of Dutch beer culture with a vibrant nightlife scene. The venue regularly hosts club nights and live concerts, making it a dynamic gathering spot for both locals and visitors exploring Amsterdam's diverse LGBTQ+ scene. Whether you're interested in craft beer, live music, or simply soaking up the atmosphere with friends, this space offers something different from your typical gay bar experience. Amsterdam's LGBTQ+ venues range from intimate brown cafés to large dance clubs, and this brewery sits nicely in that middle ground—casual enough for an evening drink but lively enough when club nights and performances are happening. The proeflokaal concept (a traditional Dutch beer tasting venue) adds a distinctive local flavor to the experience. It's the kind of place where you can expect a welcoming, mixed crowd and the chance to discover quality Dutch beers while enjoying entertainment. If you're planning a visit, it's worth checking ahead for upcoming club nights and concert dates to make the most of your evening. Located at 45 Karperweg, it's accessible to travelers exploring Amsterdam's many LGBTQ+-friendly neighborhoods. The combination of beer culture, live music, and inclusive atmosphere makes it a worthwhile stop on any queer visitor's itinerary.

Small bar but makes up the vibe. Really friendly bartenders that take their time to explain the different beers available. Aesthetic is clinical, industrial, steampunk. They have events occasionally with live music. Love the beers and would go again!

Punk's not dead! And punk just sounds even better after a couple of good beers. But after a second visit I felt the beer prices here are just too steep for what you get. It's a very friendly place, but why are prices are like in Switzerland? Come on!

Nice brewery tap, serving good cask ales from Fridays (I'm told). The bar staff are really friendly and happy to chat when it's quiet. Their other craft beers are very good too. My new local.

Very good beer found in a little of the beaten path place. They have a few options to try. The wit was very good and I liked the IPA as well. I believe they also sell bottles if you want to try the beer at home. Looking forward to coming back!
