Mexico City has a wide range of accommodation options, and most hotels in Zona Rosa, Roma, Condesa, and Polanco are straightforwardly welcoming to same-sex couples. There is no need to seek out specifically gay-flagged accommodation unless you want to stay close to the scene for convenience. That said, a few hotels specifically market to LGBTQ+ guests and are centrally located for the main venues.

Where to stay

Zona Rosa is the obvious choice for anyone whose priority is proximity to the gay scene. Hotels here range from budget guesthouses to mid-range business hotels. The neighborhood is convenient but not the most atmospheric part of the city.

Roma Norte and Condesa are the neighborhoods most visitors end up preferring for their overall feel — good restaurants, walkable streets, independent cafes, and a general energy that is harder to find in the more commercial parts of the city. Hotels and guesthouses here are slightly more expensive than Zona Rosa but still reasonable.

Polanco is the upscale option — international luxury hotels, the city's best restaurants, and proximity to Chapultepec Park. It is further from the gay scene but convenient for sightseeing and very safe.

Booking during Pride

The Marcha del Orgullo in late June draws enormous crowds. Hotels across the relevant neighborhoods fill up weeks or months in advance and prices rise significantly. If your visit overlaps with Pride, book early. Outside of Pride, availability is generally good and prices are reasonable.

Practical notes

Mexico City hotels are generally good value by European or North American standards. Mid-range hotels in Roma and Condesa offer well-maintained rooms with breakfast included at prices that would be budget territory in London or New York. Security at reputable hotels is good — use the hotel safe for passports and extra cash.
