Entering felt a bit like a maze at first but it added to the charm of this lovely venue! I love the vibe of this place and it was a fantastic show. The washrooms were clean and all the staff were friendly and helpful! I saw Homeshake play here many years ago and was a great time, then recently went to a Q107 show which was a blast! Everyone seemed to love the show and it was a great night!! They had 2 bars, one inside the stage room and one in a quieter room beside the washrooms, which had a speaker so you could still hear good sound! There was a coat check is cash-only at $3 per item (but they let me stuff my scarf and hat into my coat as one item 😊) Love this venue so much and hope to see more shows here!! 🔥💖

One of the worst venue experiences I’ve had in Toronto. Disappointing experience, largely due to poor security conduct and venue management. Security inspected my DJI Pocket camera at entry, which I appreciated, but ultimately denied it despite the venue website stating non-professional cameras are typically permitted. The inconsistency was confusing and set a negative tone. I was not intoxicated (I had one drink at dinner before arriving), did not argue, and fully complied. However, security was unnecessarily confrontational and dismissive, treating paying guests as problems rather than customers. Questioning anything would clearly have resulted in staff “pulling rank,” which felt unprofessional. Line management outside was also poorly handled. Security created the lineup and then tried to push people out of it while guests stood in below-freezing temperatures on a public sidewalk, with no heaters or shelter. Inside, entry forces guests to walk through the stage/crowd area, which is awkward and poorly planned. Bartenders were friendly and drinks were well made, but the venue itself is cold, run-down, and the women’s bathroom was visibly unclean. (see spider web from light to stall in pics) People pay for an experience — this venue misses the mark.

Experienced this venue for the first time last night to see The Darkness and I was quite impressed! It was my first time ever going to a small music venue like this and it was one of the best concert experiences I’ve ever had. I was also very impressed with the location. Many places nearby to grab a bite before the show and super convenient parking right across the street. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out for more music acts that come through The Phoenix.

I just want to say how amazing the staff and security took care of my group of friends and I on Saturday Jan 24th. They went above and beyond in so many ways! From Management to Security to Coat Check; Thank You for being so patient and compassionate with our group, we really appreciate all of you amazing beings!! We might not have had the ideal situation but the actions of the staff were truly outstanding. We look forward to our next concert!
