About this place Wildflower

Wildflower offers an alternative take on Toronto's gay nightlife scene. Located in a lower level space at Thompson Toronto on Wellington Street West, this venue provides a different kind of experience compared to traditional options you'll find throughout the city. It's positioned as an escape from the conventional, making it worth exploring if you're looking to discover something beyond the usual nightlife offerings in Ontario's capital. Toronto's LGBTQ+ nightlife has plenty of options to suit different tastes and moods, and Wildflower fits into that diverse landscape as a more exclusive, alternative-focused destination. The lower level setting creates an intimate atmosphere that many visitors appreciate when seeking a more curated experience. Whether you're a local looking for something different or a visitor wanting to experience Toronto's queer culture beyond the mainstream spots, this venue positions itself as a distinctive choice. When visiting, expect the kind of welcoming environment typical of dedicated LGBTQ+ venues in Toronto. The city's gay bar and club scene is known for being inclusive and vibrant, and this spot's emphasis on offering an alternative vibe suggests a more carefully crafted experience than you might find elsewhere. It's located in an accessible downtown area, making it easy to reach whether you're staying nearby or exploring the broader Wellington Street West neighborhood. If you're planning a night out in Toronto, Wildflower is worth considering as part of your LGBTQ+-friendly entertainment options.

$20 cover to find the club fairly empty. Security is overly aggressive and confrontational like many other reviews confirm. Hyper focused on trying to upsell bottles and tables by using strobe light carrying hostesses, prop cars, signs and cakes which is very distracting and blinding. Many other places to enjoy your night and spend your money better in Toronto.

Stylish and Artsy This basement club in a 5 five star hotel was big enough to have 100 hundred people mingling, drinking and snacking at Philippines Department of Tourism promotional event which sponsored all the free complimentary alcoholic drinks and appetizers. The speeches of visiting ambassador from New York branch, Ms Canada Universe, and Consul General were welcoming guests with no mention of recent martial law in Mindanao. Then a large monitor streamed natural spots in Philippines. This modern dark cozy space was unusual for a government sponsored event but it was successful with a diverse crowd.

This is one of the better places to have a drink, listen to good music and rub elbows with some good looking people. This venue has consistently been open 4 nights a week while most bars and clubs have closed or are empty. I will say it's not the easiest place to get into but it's also the reason why it is enjoyable. This is a small venue. Maybe 250 people. For this reason there is a strict male to female ratio to ensure that vibe is right. On any given night you will see pro athletes, celebrities and guest djs. Being part of the Thompson property is a plus also. Door staff and and bartenders are some of the best in the city. You can tell this place is managed by professionals. We weary about a lot of the negative reviews as people who can't get it in are showing up late or with 10 guys in one group. With a little patience and a well dressed group of guys and girls arriving early should have no problems.

Had guest list and intended on getting bottle service as we had a large group. Some of us had arrived before 11pm and paid cover, the rest of us came later as cabs were hard to catch. The guy working the guest list and the bouncer there last Saturday were, hot-headed, had zero respect for people and had the audacity to ridicule my friend's stature. Not only this but they added "Go back to your job at McDonalds". Little did they know about our careers and what business they were about to lose. This says a lot about the club's customer service, which we were already warned about by other friends previous to this experience. I would not recommend this place.
