New Hope Gay PrideFest 2026 — New Hope Celebrates (NHC)
About This Event
New Hope Celebrates takes over the Delaware River town of New Hope, Pennsylvania, every May. It's Bucks County's main Pride festival. Since 2004, it's grown from a small gathering into one of the East Coast's most popular small-town Pride events. Tens of thousands come for its intimate, welcoming vibe. New Hope’s been a queer refuge since the mid-20th century, a spot for artists and writers looking for acceptance.
The week's packed: the Pride Parade on Main Street, a street fair with hundreds of vendors, drag brunches, cabaret shows at Bucks County Playhouse, pool parties, and the Pride Pageant. The Raven and Triumph Brewing put on themed nights. The Pride Day rally has speakers, live music, and dancing on stages downtown.
New Hope itself is pretty, set on the Delaware River. Cobblestone streets, Victorian buildings, antique shops, and art galleries pack the downtown. Cross the bridge to Lambertville, New Jersey; it’s just as welcoming. Bucks County’s countryside has covered bridges, wineries, and Washington Crossing State Park.
Travel tips: New Hope is about 75 minutes from Philadelphia and New York City. You can drive or use SEPTA. Book hotels months ahead—the Logan Inn, Wedgwood Inn, and nearby B&Bs sell out fast. Parking is tight during the festival, so use shuttle services from satellite lots or get there early.
If you're queer, New Hope Celebrates is a must. It’s small enough to feel personal, big enough to entertain. It’s an old queer destination, where rainbow flags have flown for decades. Every business, restaurant, and venue here genuinely celebrates.
