Calgary Pride is one of Canada's biggest prairie pride festivals, taking over the downtown core each September for a week-long celebration that includes a massive parade, outdoor stages, and film screenings. The event has been running since 1990 and reflects the enormous growth of Alberta's LGBTQ+ community in a city that was long considered conservative country. The parade through 8th Avenue is genuinely enormous — and the post-parade party on Stephen Avenue is not to be missed.
