Bucharest Pride is Romania's largest LGBTQ+ celebration, held annually in June in the Romanian capital. The march winds through the city centre with police protection and draws an increasingly confident crowd of 10,000 to 15,000 participants, alongside international visitors and solidarity delegations from across Eastern Europe. Pride week includes film screenings, panel discussions, community dinners and cultural events that reflect the maturity of Bucharest's LGBTQ+ community. Counter-demonstrations do occur but have not disrupted the main event in recent years.
