Prague's gay scene used to be a few quiet spots. Now, it's a real nightlife circuit, from underground drag pubs to sleek cocktail bars. Most of it happens in Vinohrady, the established gay neighborhood near Náměstí Míru metro station.

Vinohrady

Think of Vinohrady like Prague's Soho or Marais. It's a residential neighborhood with a lot of LGBTQ+ people, concentrated bars, and a generally relaxed feel. The area around Náměstí Míru and down toward Prague 2 has the most gay venues.

    • Club Termix (Třebízského 4, Prague 2) is small, busy, and popular with young Czech locals. It really fills up on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday. No pretense, no tourist markup.
    • AXM Prague (Vinohradská 40, Prague 2) has a dance floor, a DJ, and karaoke on Tuesdays. It's right in the middle of Vinohrady.
    • Saints Bar (Polská 32, Prague 2) has English-speaking staff and a casual feel. It gets busy on weekends. It's one of the easier spots for first-time visitors.

    Old Town — For Tourists

    • Friends Prague (Bartolomějská 11, Prague 1) is the biggest gay drinking spot in Old Town. It draws tourists and a younger crowd. It's easy to find, unlike some of the Vinohrady options.
    • KU Bar Prague (V Kotcích 14, Prague 1) is a mix of gay and straight, and pretty trendy. They suggest a dress code (smart casual or better). It feels more mainstream.
    • Cafe Cafe Prague (Rytířská 10, Prague 1) serves coffee and beer, and has a summer terrace. It's more of a cafe than a bar, but it welcomes everyone.
    • Deja Vu (Jakubská 6, Prague 1) is an alternative gay hangout. People rate it highly for its atmosphere and character.

Smíchov — Late Night

Wild Boys Club (Nádražní 46, Smíchov) is open non-stop. It's a bar, club, sauna, restaurant, and aqua show all in one. If you want everything in one place, this is it. It's near Smíchovské Nádraží metro station.

Alternative Scene

The Bourgeois Pig Music Club (Koubkova 2, Prague 2) is described as an "unpretentious gay alternative hipster hangout." It plays vinyl records and feels genuinely different from the usual club scene. It's the highest-rated venue in the city for character.

⚠ Safety note: Public displays of affection outside gay venues can still cause problems in some parts of Prague. Be aware of your surroundings—pickpocketing happens in tourist areas, and some venues' back rooms attract hustlers. Prague Pride is in August; that's when the city's social scene really ramps up.
