IDM is the most elaborate gay sauna in Paris, occupying five floors of a building near the Grands Boulevards in the 9th arrondissement. The scale of the place is its defining characteristic: 40-plus themed rooms spread across the floors cover dry sauna, XXL steam room in the basement, jacuzzi, labyrinth sections, glory hole booths, darkroom areas with slings, and private X video lounges. There is also a fitness/workout area for those who come with different intentions. The place is well-maintained and professionally staffed, and it draws a mixed crowd age-wise — some regulars have been coming for decades. The location on Rue du Faubourg Montmartre puts it about fifteen minutes' walk from Le Marais, or a short Metro ride (Grands Boulevards, Line 8 or 9). Entry ranges from approximately €15-22 depending on time and day; student discounts are sometimes available.
