The “Bela Artes” outpost of the Golden Tulip hotel chain is in walking distance to most of the bars, cafes, and restaurants on the list of gay São Paulo recommendations. Stroll down Frei Caneca for early-evening drinks at Barão da Itararé or up to Jiquitaia for an excellent Brazilian meal. A good portion of the hotel itself is newly-renovated (ask at the front desk which floor has the new rooms.) Service is great, Wi-fi may or may not be free, and the overnight guest policy is
