Chicago Pride Parade 2026

The Chicago Pride Parade is one of the largest LGBTQ+ events in the United States — an annual march along Broadway and Halsted Street through Boystown that draws over one million participants and spectators each June. The parade route runs from Montrose Avenue south along Broadway to Halsted Street, passing through the heart of Chicago's historic gay neighbourhood with the Rainbow Pylons, Center on Halsted, and the full concentration of Boystown's bars and community organisations as its backdrop. Chicago Pride began in 1970 as a commemoration of the Stonewall Uprising and has grown into one of the defining events in the American LGBTQ+ calendar. The parade includes floats from community organisations, corporations, elected officials, and activist groups; the Dykes on Bikes contingent traditionally opens the march. The Saturday before the parade features Chicago Pride Fest on Halsted Street — a two-day street festival with multiple stages, food vendors, and performances that draws 75,000-80,000 people before the parade itself. For visitors, Pride weekend requires accommodation booked months in advance; every hotel in Boystown, Lakeview, and Lincoln Park is sold out by February.
