The Lambertville House is the most elegant accommodation option in the combined New Hope-Lambertville destination — a historic inn on Bridge Street in Lambertville, New Jersey, directly across the Delaware River from New Hope and connected by the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge. The property occupies a building that has operated as a hotel since 1812, making it one of the oldest continuously operating inns in New Jersey, and the rooms combine historic character with modern comfort in a way that the newer boutique hotels in the area cannot replicate. The Lambertville House is gay-friendly by the culture and practice of the wider destination rather than by explicit designation, but Lambertville's long association with the New Hope LGBTQ+ community makes it entirely welcoming in practice. The two-minute walk across the bridge to New Hope's bar and restaurant scene makes the Lambertville House a practical choice as well as an atmospheric one: guests have access to both towns' dining and social options without committing to either side of the river. The inn's own dining room is among the better restaurants in the area.
