Lisbon is one of Europe's most LGBTQ+-friendly capitals, and its sauna scene reflects that — well-run venues in good locations, connected to the Príncipe Real and Bairro Alto gay districts that come alive in the evenings.
The flagship — operating since 2010 and considered one of Europe's better gay saunas. Dry sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, private cabins, and massage services. Entry includes towels, locker, flip-flops, condoms, and lubricant. Peak times are after work weekdays, late on weekends, and Sunday afternoons. Open continuously from Friday noon through Monday 6am — effectively a 60-hour operation over the weekend.
A mixed-orientation venue near Avenida da Liberdade that welcomes men, women, couples, and all identities. Turkish bath, dry sauna, saltwater pool with jacuzzi, private cabins, dark room, erotic cinema, and bar. The most inclusive sauna in Lisbon. Skews toward mature demographics with a wellness focus.
Newer-generation facility also near Avenida da Liberdade — bar, dry sauna, Turkish bath, private cabins, massage services, large jacuzzi, and on-site adult shop. Smaller than Trombeta, which means a more intimate scale and mature crowd who prefer that.
Exceptionally close to the Príncipe Real garden — the sauna that's most embedded in the gay neighbourhood. Bar, private lodges, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, and extensive cruising space. If you're already in Príncipe Real for the evening, this is the natural option.
A different kind of option — part of a gay resort hotel at Costa da Caparica, 20 minutes south of Lisbon. Saunas, heated outdoor pool, jacuzzi, relaxation cabins, showers, lockers, and bar. The resort co-hosted the 2024 European Gay Sauna Conference. Day pass €20. Good for a full day out of the city.
Príncipe Real is the established gay neighbourhood — upscale, beautiful, with bars and restaurants around the garden. Bairro Alto is more bohemian and bar-heavy. Portugal legalised same-sex marriage in 2010 and has progressive LGBTQ+ protections. EuroPride 2025 (June 14–22) was held in Lisbon — the first time in a Portuguese-speaking country.
