Sahne ("Stage") is on Tunalı Hilmi Caddesi — the upscale commercial street of Çankaya, the most affluent district of Ankara and the location of most embassy residences. The bar draws from Çankaya's particular demographic mix: diplomats, academics, Ankara University staff, and the young professional class that clusters in this part of the city. It is not exclusively gay but has a consistent LGBTQ+-friendly reputation and is cited by Ankara's gay community as one of the more comfortable mixed venues in the city.
