What to expect

Safety inside venues

Inside the venues themselves you are in a managed private environment with staff. The safety concerns that apply to walking around Cape Town at night do not apply inside. Practical notes

Towels are typically included. Condoms are available at most venues. Bring ID if you look young. Some venues are cash-only — check before going out.

Take Uber to and from venues rather than walking, particularly late at night. Cape Town's general crime environment means night-time walking in areas you do not know is a genuine risk.
