Santiago Pride / Marcha del Orgullo 2026

The Santiago Pride March — Marcha del Orgullo — is the largest LGBTQ+ event in Chile and one of the most significant in South America, drawing approximately 100,000 participants and spectators each year. The march runs from Plaza Italia, the symbolic heart of Santiago and the traditional gathering point for public celebrations and protests, south along Avenida Vicuña Mackenna to the Parque O'Higgins — a route through the city's centre that has been established over years of the march's history. Santiago Pride has grown significantly since the early marches of the 1990s, when Movilh and other organisations first organised public LGBTQ+ visibility events in the aftermath of the Pinochet dictatorship. The march now includes floats from community organisations, activist groups, and corporate sponsors; the mood is celebratory and politically engaged in equal measure. The Andes mountain backdrop visible on clear June and July days makes the Santiago march one of the most visually distinctive Pride events in the world.
