The Regenbogenparade (Rainbow Parade) is Vienna's annual LGBTQ+ Pride march — held each June along the Ringstrasse, one of the most magnificent architectural boulevards in the world. The parade passes the State Opera, the Parliament, the Rathaus (City Hall), and the Kunsthistorisches Museum, drawing over 150,000 participants and spectators to Vienna's most celebrated public space. The Regenbogenparade has been held annually since 1996 and is one of the largest Pride events in the German-speaking world. The setting makes it uniquely spectacular: there is no other Pride parade in Europe held along a boulevard of this architectural calibre. Vienna's marriage equality since 2019 gives the event a celebratory dimension alongside its advocacy character. The day's programme includes the parade itself and a festival area in the Rathausplatz or along the Ringstrasse. Book accommodation well in advance — Regenbogenparade weekend fills Vienna's central hotels quickly.
