Thessaloniki Gay Pride is Northern Greece's annual LGBTQ+ celebration, held in Greece's second city — known for its vibrant cultural life, Byzantine architecture, and large student population. The parade through the city's waterfront and central Aristotelous Square draws tens of thousands and has become one of the Balkans' most significant pride events.
Thessaloniki's pride has particular significance as a Balkan regional hub: LGBTQ+ people from North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Serbia and Albania travel to participate in a march that would be impossible or dangerous in their home countries. The city's large student population and cosmopolitan character make it one of the most welcoming cities in southeastern Europe.
