Pride Barcelona — the annual LGBTQ+ pride celebration in the Catalan capital, with the main parade along Passeig de Gràcia attracting 200,000 people and a week of events across the city's gay scene. The parade runs from Plaça de la Universitat along the length of Passeig de Gràcia, the most architecturally spectacular boulevard in Barcelona, lined with Modernisme masterpieces including La Pedrera and Casa Batlló. The week of events preceding the parade includes exhibitions, film screenings, concerts, and club nights across the Gayxample district and the wider city. Pride Barcelona takes place in late June — typically the last weekend of the month — and coincides with the high summer season, making accommodation planning essential. The combination of Barcelona's visual beauty, the parade route along Passeig de Gràcia, and the concentration of the Gayxample gay scene makes Pride Barcelona one of Europe's most photogenic pride events. For visitors who cannot make Madrid's larger WorldPride event later in the same week, Pride Barcelona is the alternative — smaller but no less celebratory.
