The Hôtel des Quatre Sœurs (Hotel of the Four Sisters) has stood on Cours du 30 Juillet since 1827, making it one of Bordeaux's oldest hotels. Richard Wagner stayed here in 1850 and left owing a considerable bill — a fact the hotel commemorates with a plaque and a certain pride. The 34-room boutique hotel has been extensively refurbished and sits in the golden triangle of Bordeaux's historic centre, equidistant from the Garonne, the Grand Théâtre and Place Gambetta. It features in several LGBTQ+ travel guides as one of Bordeaux's most character-filled gay-friendly hotels. The location is unbeatable for accessing both the Saint-Pierre gay scene and the Chartrons neighbourhood.
