Seville Pride — Orgullo Sevilla — is the annual LGBTQ+ Pride event of Andalucía's capital, centred on the Alameda de Hércules, the historic promenade that serves as the natural gathering place of Seville's gay and alternative community. The parade route runs through the Alameda and the surrounding streets of the San Lorenzo neighbourhood, drawing approximately 30,000 participants and spectators — a scale that reflects Seville's position as a medium-sized Pride event rather than a major European Pride, but one that is significant within the Andalucían context and that draws LGBTQ+ visitors from across southern Spain. The Pride programme extends beyond the parade to include performances, community events, and the general festival atmosphere that transforms the Alameda area for the duration of the weekend. The Alfalfa gay bars participate with extended hours and outdoor events; the Alameda promenade becomes a continuous outdoor party. Seville Pride typically takes place in late June or early July — timing that coincides with the beginning of Seville's serious summer heat, making Pride both a celebration and a warm-weather challenge that the Sevillano community navigates with the pragmatic adaptability of people accustomed to extreme temperatures.
