The waterfront setting is the appeal: chairs facing the Aegean, cold Efes beer or local Aegean wine, the sea breeze and the lights of Karşıyaka across the bay. The social atmosphere on the Kordon is Izmir at its most relaxed — less charged than Istanbul, less tourist-saturated, more genuinely local. A good choice for an earlier evening before moving to Alsancak's bar district.
