Sauna Oasis has been Bologna's primary gay sauna for over twenty years, located in the northern part of the historic centre near Porta Galliera — one of the medieval city gates that define Bologna's urban form, and thematically appropriate given the Cassero's own history inside a city gate. The facility is compact but well-designed: a Turkish steamroom, a Finnish dry sauna, a darkroom area, private cabins and a small bar. The locker facilities are maintained to a high standard and towel hire is included in the entry price. The clientele is predominantly local — regulars who have been coming for years — which gives the sauna a relaxed, neighbourhood character. The age range is broad (25–65) and the atmosphere is welcoming to newcomers. The sauna is located within easy walking distance of the Cassero (about 15 minutes on foot), making an Oasis visit a natural continuation of a Cassero evening. Open daily from 14:00; later closing on Friday and Saturday nights.
