Barcelona has a solid gay sauna scene. Most of them sit in or near Eixample, and they operate all week, not just weekends. Afternoon sessions from around 2pm are consistently busy, which is unusual compared to cities where the saunas only fill on Friday and Saturday nights.

Pricing typically works as a combined entry and locker or cabin fee. Locker is cheaper and gives you a communal locker; a cabin gives you a private room with a bed. Towels are almost always included. Most places also have a steam room, jacuzzi, dry sauna, and some kind of dark area or maze.

Some Barcelona saunas have additional spaces: gym equipment, a bar or snack area, a roof terrace in summer. It is worth checking before you go what the specific layout includes.

Practical notes

Most saunas accept cards now, but some older ones still prefer cash for entry. Bring a bit of both if you are not sure. You can usually check in and come out, so leaving valuables locked in your hotel room is sensible.

Sessions have no fixed time limit. You pay for entry and stay as long as you like. Many people go for two to three hours in the afternoon and then head to the bars in the evening.

During Circuit Festival week in August, the saunas get very busy and some introduce slightly different pricing or special events. Check their social media before visiting during that period.
