DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! We had a really disappointing and disturbing experience at this hotel. Our group had three rooms booked, and one of our friends who is pregnant was placed into a room where we later discovered a deceased person had been removed only hours earlier. This is something no guest should ever have to experience, let alone someone who is pregnant. The lack of judgment and sensitivity from the hotel in assigning that room so quickly was extremely concerning. The room had a strong odour of what smelled like heavy deodoriser or neutraliser, but underneath that there was still a very unpleasant smell lingering. It left us questioning whether the room had even been properly disinfected or cleaned after the situation that had occurred. Beyond the shock of the situation, the overall condition of the hotel did not help. The rooms feel run down and in need of significant updates. We understand unfortunate events can happen anywhere, but the way this was handled by the hotel was incredibly inappropriate. Basic consideration for guest wellbeing and proper cleaning time should have been taken before placing anyone in that room. Very disappointing experience and not somewhere we would choose to stay again nor would we recommend anyone else to stay here.

Excellent location and a fantastic fitness centre. First hotel I have seen with yoga and Pilates equipment. FYI: We travelled as a couple and didn’t vibe with how kid friendly and pet friendly the hotel was. We will stay closer to the Central Business District next time as it’s probably more adult friendly. Lots of kids unsupervised running around in the evening. There is a games room and fire pits (it was winter) with S‘mores which is very nice but just be aware kids can take over these areas. Rooms were nice and clean but lights/heating/cooling didn’t work properly during our stay. One of the lifts and ATM were “out of order” so the hotel is a bit dated but the location and price certainly make up for that!

We loved Hotel Zephyr. It was right in the center of Fisherman's Wharf with easy walkable access to the Wharf and Embarcadero, even ChinaTown. It was easy to schedule Uber or Waymo from, so that we could get to any locations further away. We loved being able leave our luggage before check-in and even after while we waited for it to be time to head to the airport. The hotel is very well maintained; rooms perfect. The really best part was the open common space. We got the chance to meet up with a friend and we were able to just meet up and comfortably lounge while enjoying the refreshments from Zephyr walk.

I stayed at the Zephyr Hotel for a few days while in San Francisco for work leading up to the Super Bowl, and unfortunately the experience didn’t live up to expectations. When I arrived to check in, the room I had booked was not available and I was downgraded, with the suggestion that I speak to a manager the next morning. When I went to the front desk the following day, the manager was not available. I later received a phone call offering to waive the resort fees, which barely compensated for the difference in room price. Beyond the check-in issue, the room itself did not feel like a four-star hotel. The furniture and finishes were noticeably worn and rundown—chipping paint, a worn headboard, unfinished metal near an outlet, and a deadbolt that wasn’t functioning properly. Overall, the room felt poorly maintained. The location is the main highlight. Being right by the Wharf is convenient and definitely a prime spot. The central courtyard with the fire pits and communal seating is nicely designed and well kept. However, once you get to the rooms, it’s a completely different story. The hotel feels like a former motel that’s been styled to look trendy in photos, but the reality is disappointing when you arrive.

Hey! Just wanted to share our experience about this place we stayed at recently. It was absolutely amazing, and we loved every bit of it. The place is very kid-friendly, which made our trip so much easier and enjoyable. Plus, it's conveniently located very close to all the stores, so we didn’t have to travel far for anything we needed. The staff there are wonderful and always helpful, they really went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly and well maintained, which added to the overall great impression. The entire area is clean and beautiful, making it a pleasant environment to relax in. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a hassle-free and pleasant stay!
