The beachside infrastructure is excellent: the Icebergs ocean pool on the southern headland is one of Sydney's architectural landmarks, the coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee via Tamarama and Bronte is widely regarded as the best urban coastal walk in Australia, and the restaurant and café strip on Campbell Parade provides everything from fresh juice to fine dining. During Mardi Gras season, Bondi Beach takes on a particular energy as visitors from around the world converge on Sydney; the north end of the beach becomes a de facto gathering point. For any LGBTQ+ visitor to Sydney, Bondi is non-negotiable — not specifically as a gay venue but as an experience that is inseparable from understanding what Sydney is.
