Revenge has been Brighton's main gay nightclub since 1991 — a two-floor venue on Old Steine that sits at the geographical centre of the Kemptown scene, between the seafront and St James's Street. The club holds approximately 700 people across two rooms with different music formats: the main floor runs chart pop and commercial dance; the second floor is more varied across the week. Seven nights a week is rare for any venue; Revenge earns it through consistent programming and the particular character of Brighton, where the LGBTQ+ resident population is large enough to support a seven-day operation. The crowd reflects Brighton's diversity — all ages, all genders, a visible mix of regulars and visitors — and the atmosphere is noticeably more community-oriented than a London club that depends on weekend tourist traffic. Friday and Saturday are the busiest nights; Sunday afternoons can be surprisingly well-attended thanks to the city's weekend visitor population. Entry price is among the cheapest of any gay nightclub in England.
