Dallas Pride 2026 — Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade

Dallas Pride — formally the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade — is the largest LGBTQ+ Pride event in Texas, held annually in September in the Oak Lawn neighbourhood along Cedar Springs Road. The fall scheduling is deliberate: September in Dallas is significantly more bearable than June, with temperatures that allow outdoor celebration without the extreme heat that makes summer Dallas Pride events uncomfortable. The September scheduling has also allowed Dallas Pride to grow into one of the largest Pride events in the South, drawing 80,000 or more participants and spectators to the Cedar Springs Strip.

The Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade runs along Cedar Springs Road — the heart of Dallas's gay neighbourhood — and through the surrounding Oak Lawn streets, passing the bars, restaurants, and community organisations that make up The Strip. The parade format includes community floats, corporate sponsors, elected officials, activist organisations, and the full range of the Dallas LGBTQ+ community. The Dykes on Bikes contingent traditionally opens the parade; the Spirit of Stonewall Memorial Rally precedes the parade each year.

The festival associated with Dallas Pride draws participants to Cedar Springs Road and the surrounding Oak Lawn blocks for a full weekend of celebration. The concentration of gay bars on The Strip — S4 Dallas, Round-Up Saloon, The Brick, and others — means that Pride weekend transforms the neighbourhood into a continuous outdoor celebration, with patios, street events, and bar programming that runs from morning to the early hours.
