Rehoboth Beach Pride — officially CAMP Rehoboth Pride — is the annual LGBTQ+ Pride celebration for the Delaware coast, held each September and drawing approximately 20,000 people to a city of 1,500 year-round residents. The September timing reflects Rehoboth's seasonal logic: the summer crowds have thinned, the temperatures are more comfortable than the July and August peak, and the Pride festival functions as a celebration of the summer season that is ending rather than a mid-season event competing with the beach crowd. The programming includes the Pride parade along Rehoboth and Baltimore Avenues, a street festival, bar events, live entertainment, and the CAMP Rehoboth community programming that makes this Pride celebration distinctive from more commercially oriented events. Rehoboth Beach Pride draws visitors from Washington DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and Delaware itself — the combination of a quality beach destination and a well-organised Pride celebration makes the September weekend one of the most popular travel dates in the Mid-Atlantic gay calendar. The parade route along the main streets of a small, walkable city creates an intimacy of scale that larger Pride events cannot match.
