Connection Club is the Schöneberg gay venue that occupies the commercial end of Berlin's scene — the large, accessible nightclub for Saturday nights that does not require any sub-cultural identification to enjoy. The venue has a main dance floor upstairs and the Connection Video Bar downstairs, each operating with different music and atmosphere. Go-go dancers are a weekly feature; the music is mainstream gay: house, pop remixes, commercial anthems. The crowd is diverse in the way that large commercial clubs are diverse — a cross-section of the gay mainstream rather than any specific sub-community. During CSD week in July, Connection runs extended programming and is one of the central venues for Schöneberg's Pride celebrations. It is the right answer for visitors who want a proper nightclub experience in central Berlin without needing to navigate Berghain's door policy or understand Berlin's more experimental club culture.
