Bagno 26 is the name that the Italian gay community has used for decades to identify the gay beach area in Rimini's Torre Pedrera zone, roughly at the northern end of Rimini's long beach strip. The Italian beach system divides the sand into numbered stabilimenti balneari — private beach concessions that manage sunlounger hire, bar service and facilities along specific stretches. The section around and near number 26 has been informally established as the gay area since at least the 1990s. Multiple stabilimenti in this zone now actively welcome gay guests and some market specifically to LGBTQ+ visitors. The facilities are standard Italian beach club quality: sunloungers and parasols for hire, a beach bar serving drinks and light food from morning through evening, showers and changing facilities. The atmosphere is relaxed and sociable — Italian gay beach culture operates on long days of conversation, swimming, aperitivo and watching the world pass. The beach is wide and the Adriatic shallow and warm in summer, making it a particularly pleasant beach environment. Active June through September; peak July and August when the beach is packed from 09:00 to sunset.
