Manchester has a small but consistent gay sauna scene, mostly within or near the Village. Options are fewer than in London, but what is there is reliable and well used. Most operate seven days a week with extended hours at weekends.

What to expect

Manchester''s saunas follow the standard UK bathhouse format. Entry fee includes a towel and use of the facilities: steam room, dry sauna, showers, and the communal and private areas. Locker or cabin options at most venues — a cabin gives you a private space and runs higher. Expect to pay £12-18 for a standard locker entry, more at weekends and for cabins.

Most venues have a café or vending area, dark room, cruise areas, and various themed rooms. Some run events on specific nights — bear nights, underwear nights, themed fetish nights — that change the demographic noticeably. Check the venue''s social media for the current schedule.

Weekday afternoons are typically active from around 2pm. Weekends are busier in the evenings. Some venues stay open 24 hours on Friday and Saturday nights.

Practical notes

UK saunas generally require ID for entry. Bring it. Towels and lockers are included in the entry fee. Condoms are provided at most venues. Poppers are legal in the UK and available in sex shops around the Village if you want to bring your own.

Phone policies vary. Some venues have a strict no-phone rule in the main areas; others allow phones in the lounge but not the cruise areas. Check the venue''s policy when you arrive.
