Shopping in Mykonos means walking the streets of Chora and seeing what you find. The old town is full of boutiques, jewellery shops, fashion labels, and souvenir stores packed into a maze of narrow lanes. It is a general shopping scene that caters to tourists with money, rather than a specifically LGBTQ-targeted retail environment.
What you will find
Chora has a strong fashion and jewellery offer — Greek designers, international labels, and a lot of high-end swimwear, which makes sense given the beach culture. Pride merchandise and rainbow-branded items are visible during summer, particularly around the bars. Some shops stock specific gay interest items, though this is not universal and changes year to year.
Swimwear in particular is worth picking up in Mykonos. The island has a concentrated selection of the kind of brief, fashion-conscious swimwear that is hard to find elsewhere without digging online. If you forgot yours or want something specific for Super Paradise, you will find options easily.
Browsing vs buying
Prices are in line with the general Mykonos premium. This is not a budget shopping destination. If you are looking for cheap souvenirs, the smaller stalls away from the main tourist drag are slightly more reasonable, but do not expect bargains. The atmosphere of walking around Chora in the evening — popping into a shop, stopping for a coffee, getting lost — is enjoyable regardless of whether you buy anything.
