Sofia Pride is Bulgaria's largest annual LGBTQ+ event, held every June in the Bulgarian capital. The march proceeds through central Sofia with full police protection and draws 5,000 to 10,000 participants, including a growing contingent of international visitors and solidarity delegations from across the Balkans. The event has been held since 2008 and has steadily matured from a small, heavily contested gathering into a recognisable fixture of the Sofia calendar. Pride week programming includes film screenings, panel discussions and community events running alongside the main march.
