The Turkish trans community continues to attempt to gather each year, facing police dispersal with tear gas and rubber bullets in scenes that have drawn international condemnation. Trans Pride Week in Istanbul has become one of the most powerful symbols of resistance in the global LGBTQ+ rights movement.
