🌈 About This Event

Istanbul Trans Pride Week is held each June in defiance of an official ban that has been in place since 2015, when authorities began prohibiting all LGBTQ+ events in the city. The Turkish trans community continues to attempt to gather each year, facing police dispersal with tear gas and rubber bullets in scenes that have drawn international condemnation. Trans Pride Week in Istanbul has become one of the most powerful symbols of resistance in the global LGBTQ+ rights movement.
