Sauna Adam is Oslo's second established gay sauna, located in the Grønland neighbourhood — the multicultural quarter east of the city centre that has been developing as an increasingly interesting part of Oslo's gay geography. The clientele tends to be more locally focused than Sauna Thor — Norwegian gay men who live in or near the Grønland area, alongside a smaller contingent of visitors. Sauna Adam's Grønland location gives it a different character from the Sentrum-area venues: the neighbourhood's ethnic diversity and relative affordability (by Oslo standards) create an atmosphere that is less tourist-oriented and more rooted in Oslo's own gay community.
