Sauna Adam is Oslo's second established gay sauna, located in the Grønland neighbourhood — the multicultural quarter east of the city centre that has been developing as an increasingly interesting part of Oslo's gay geography. The sauna offers the standard multi-level facilities: steam room, dry sauna, darkrooms, lockers, and a relaxation area, in a setting that has the specific character of Grønland rather than the more central Sentrum. The clientele tends to be more locally focused than Sauna Thor — Norwegian gay men who live in or near the Grønland area, alongside a smaller contingent of visitors. Sauna Adam's Grønland location gives it a different character from the Sentrum-area venues: the neighbourhood's ethnic diversity and relative affordability (by Oslo standards) create an atmosphere that is less tourist-oriented and more rooted in Oslo's own gay community.
