L'Ubu is one of Toulouse's most reliably busy gay bars, benefiting from its location on Rue Saint-Rome — the city's main pedestrian artery — which ensures good footfall at all hours. The bar is two floors: street-level for drinks and socialising, a smaller upstairs mezzanine for quieter conversation. The cocktail list is well-executed and reasonably priced by French standards. The crowd is genuinely mixed in age and gender expression; this is not a leather bar or a circuit bar — it is simply a very good gay bar where everybody feels comfortable.

The bouncer was incredibly unpleasant; avoid him at all costs! I don't even understand why he does this job in the first place. We called to see if we could get in because we had an hour's drive ahead of us. They said yes, but in the end, this man refused to let us in because he thought my cousin was drunk, even though he wasn't. He was so stubborn! No explanation whatsoever, even though other people behind us were completely drunk, but they got in anyway because they kissed their friends on the cheek, lol! In these situations, everyone is the same! This club is a complete waste of time! Especially the bouncer—he should resign!
Horrible evening. I was attacked by a man in his thirties from Marseille who was there for a birthday party with his friends. This man goes by the name "J," apparently quite well-known around Périgueux, and having moved to Marseille about two years ago.
Great atmosphere, relaxed staff, I even had my phone charged by the woman who collects the equipment, good music, calm clientele, I recommend it for a pleasant evening
My son knows how to play a Maître Gims playlist in his room, it's a shame the company hasn't evolved in this area!
