14 designer apartments Gay-friendly, well-equipped, light and spacious apartments conceived by German-born Britta Jürgens and Canadian expatriate Matthew Griffin, who transformed a fading late-19th-century building into six elegantly simple designer lofts, opened in 2002. The team constructed an adjoining building, all curved and stainless steel, with eight new concrete-based lofts opening in 2004. Partners Jürgens and Griffin run the operation.
