🌈 About This Event

The Pink Loerie Mardi Gras transforms Knysna — one of South Africa's most beautiful garden route towns — into a week-long LGBTQ+ celebration each April or May. The event takes its name from the flamboyant Knysna loerie bird, and the garden-route setting of lagoons, forests, and the famous Knysna Heads provides an extraordinary backdrop. It's become a beloved annual gathering for LGBTQ+ South Africans and international visitors who combine pride with a trip along the spectacular Western Cape coast.
