Q! Film Festival is Indonesia's pioneering LGBTQ+ film festival, operating in Jakarta under challenging conditions in the world's most populous Muslim-majority country. The festival has faced interference and cancellations over the years but has consistently found ways to screen queer stories and connect a community that has few other visible gathering spaces. Its resilience is genuinely inspiring — and its programme of Indonesian and international queer cinema is excellent.
