Rauschgold sits on the Mehringdamm in Kreuzberg and has built a reputation as Berlin's best small drag and cabaret venue. The bar is deliberately cosy — capacity is limited, which means the performances feel intimate rather than theatrical, and the relationship between the drag hostesses and the audience is genuinely interactive rather than one-directional. Regular events include drag bingo, lip sync battles, birthday shows, and fundraiser nights for queer community organisations. The cocktail programme is serious — one of the better cocktail bars in Kreuzberg regardless of sexuality — and the staff are knowledgeable and engaged. The Mehringdamm location is in a cluster of Kreuzberg queer venues that includes Möbel Olfe, Roses, and the bar is walkable from both U-Bahn Mehringdamm and Platz der Luftbrücke. Rauschgold represents the social and performative end of Berlin's queer spectrum — the bar where you go for the show, the conversation, and the sense of community rather than for dancing or cruising.
