The ground floor bar is a standard gay pub format: good beers, a jukebox or DJ, comfortable seating and a crowd that includes both regulars and visitors. The upper floor hosts events and has more space for dancing. The Schäfergasse location is in central Frankfurt, accessible on foot from the Hauptwache and the Zeil shopping street, putting it in the most easily navigable part of the city for first-time visitors. Regular events include drag nights, themed party evenings, and community gatherings. Metropol is not Frankfurt's most glamorous gay bar but it is among its most reliable — always open, consistently friendly, and useful as both a starting point and a destination.
