Dublin Pride is held each June, celebrating Ireland's remarkable journey from criminalising homosexuality in 1993 to becoming the first country to legalise same-sex marriage by popular vote in 2015. The parade through central Dublin is joyful and emotional, and the city's pubs and clubs add their own extended celebrations. A week of film, culture, and community events surrounds the main parade day.
