Tiramisu Bar occupies a terrace position near Piazza IX Aprile — the main square of Taormina's corso, with the medieval church and the cliff edge, and perhaps the finest public terrace view in Sicily: the Greek Theatre visible in the foreground, Etna's cone behind it, and the bay below. The bar is gay-friendly rather than explicitly gay — Taormina's small size and its nature as an upscale tourist destination means that most venues are broadly welcoming without specialising. Tiramisu is known within the gay travel circuit for the friendliness of its staff and the quality of its Sicilian prosecco and spritz. The fashion is smart-casual to dressy — this is Taormina's corso in summer, where even the gelato queue has people in linen. The terrace fills fast at sunset; arrive early or accept the wait.
